Hey guys!

I just wanted to make a little blog post to celebrate my trip to see The Third-Rates a few days ago. They played at the Flamingo Cantina with some other kick-ass Ska groups who put on an unforgettable show!

I also wanted to give a shout out and thanks to someone in particular:

I got to meet someone who is a huuuuge influence in my life as a creator, Newground's very own Cory Spazkid!

Thank You sooo much, Cory, for making my night extra special! I will never forget you teaching me how to skank, chatting and drinking with you! I really meant it when I said you're a big inspiration and a reminder for me to always be myself and never be ashamed of who I am. I hope you and your band mates had a good trip home, and come back and see Texas soon! I'll pick something other than Jameson for our next shot. 🤣

As for the rest of TTR, again, your show fucking killed it and your new song for the next album was bitchin'! I cant wait to see what you guys throw out next.

It was such a great show! It was super cool to meet Cory and the band, they were all really nice. My friend's and I were lucky enough to get in the venue early since Connor's a really good friend of ours and we got some more time to chat with the band. It was such a good time! Also that's me in Buc-ee's shirt LOL

That's so cool you're friends with Connor! Everyone in the band is so sweet and awesome, and I'm so glad I met any of them. It's just Cory in particular was a big deal for me as a long time fan/follower. He really made me wanna start posting art and put myself out there again in years, after spending a decade of my adult life lurking online hiding myself away.

I hope they come back to Texas and we can all party together again lol.

@steakbone Idk if we met, I got drunk at the show lol. But I definitely recognize you. So hello! And yeah of course! Your art's really cool. Small world. And yeah I get how you feel. I went to all the Texas shows and had a chance to meet him, which felt pretty surreal, bc him and Egoraptor were the two who got me into art and animation. We got to mosh at the San Antonio show too which was SO much fun. If I was 15 again I'd be loosing my shit! I hope they come back to Texas too. When they do I'll definitely say what's up and be down to party again! I felt bad for Cory at the end though bc a lot of people bought him drinks and he got super drunk, he looked so out of it lol. But seems like he made it out okay. And yeah, I'm totally cool with you leaving the pic up, thanks for asking! And nice to meet you too!

I'm soooo jealous! But I'm thankful I got to see the Austin show.

GOD I feel so guilty about that, because he did a shot with me too. He said it wasn't just me tho but stillll, poor guy! I'll definitely say hey if they ever come back because I know we'll probably both be there, huh?

@steakbone Yeah, all their Texas shows were great, but the Austin show was the best by far! So you saw the best one. I considered buying him a drink too actually. One of my friend's bought him a shot also and felt bad but he bought him a water before we left. Everyone had a blast though so no harm done. And yeah definitely say hi! I'm Fahad. It's funny, I was looking through my feed like "oh cool post, I was there... wait that's me!" lol. Glad we met though! They said they'll definitely come back to Austin too so see ya then whenever that is.
